Nu You Kidney Recovery Support Foundation strives to support individuals, post kidney transplant surgery. Our founder, who herself has undergone kidney transplant surgery, felt the need to help others navigate the post transplant process.
She started with a book, "Are You Kidney me? I had a transplant.. They didn't tell me all this!", to share her own journey with kidney transplant surgery. Then she went a step beyond to create the Nu You Kidney Recovery Support Foundation to assist others going through the same process.
It is important to note that LaShawn, while in recovery herself, researched to discover what resources exist that help individuals with kidney transplant recovery, and found very few. She took upon herself to create a forum to share the resources that she discovered. Truly selfless.
The book, and the subsequent book signing, represent a long road filled with ups and downs, but ultimately culminated into her passion which is the Nu You Kidney Recovery Support Foundation.
